Project Description:
A private label design for Timorous Beasties saw a grand design for the floor of the Victoria & Albert Boardroom.
Inspired by the thistles and roses festooning the Victoria and Albert Museum's exterior architectural surface, Timorous Beasties re-designed the V&A boardroom with a centre-piece rug (manufactured by Loophouse), drapes, and a printed blind. Introducing an atmosphere of warmth to an otherwise conventionally formal space, Timorous Beasties framed their wallpaper pattern to a height that simultaneously avoided encroachment on the room’s art collection and yet created a field of focus for the main portrait of Queen Victoria.
Loophouse translated Timorous Beasties artwork to create a majestic rug that combined their elaborate design with the MIRROR ALCHEMY gradation technique, which faded from a lighter centre out to darker tone on its edges. Alongside the fitting of the rug around an access point ran the assembly of a spectacular Terence Woodgate boardroom table.
